About The Position

The Residency Physician starts their four year training plan as an intern at level 1 or Program Year 1 (PGY1). Following the Common Program Requirements set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Meical Education (ACGME), Residents will complete monthly rotations that are consider core milestones in preparing them to be independent attendings and be able to pass their boards examination. During the four years they will prepare themselves through lectures provided by the program, as well as independent study that will be tested during the yearly in-service exams provided by the organization “Psychiatry Resident In-Training Examination” (PRITE). Kansas City University Graduate Medical Education (KCU-GME) will also provide Residents with resources and research requirements needed to excel towards their graduation after four years of training. Education: Requires a college degree in medicine that is recognized by the ACGME. Licenses and Certifications: All must be able to obtain a temporary or permanent license in the state of Missouri. Responsibilities: In each rotation, the Resident will be expected to work on their milestones that will help to ensure growth in their knowledge base and prepare them for their boards. The Following Milestones Are: Patient Care Medical Knowledge Systems-Based Practice Practice-Based Learning and Improvement Professionalism Interpersonal and Communication Skills Residents will also be expected to keep up to date on work utilizing New Innovations by updating: Duty Hours Procedure Logs Evaluations Curriculum Goals and Objectives Portfolio Reviews Survey’s Training Updates The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, and stooping. Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed TB test upon hire. Requirements
