The ideal DVIS candidate is one who is interested in joining a workplace culture that encourages self-care, an environment of continuous learning and strong peer support. We are looking for people to join a team of advocates who use trauma informed approaches that will scaffold and support our clients and their children. The philosophy of our organization is that all people have the right to live without fear, abuse, oppression, and violence. Our advocacy programs embrace the philosophy that people experiencing violence and/or abuse have the potential to control their lives and can be helped in doing so through support, information, and encouragement. We believe that our organization should model behavior that is nonviolent and uses power responsibly for personal and organizational action and growth. Hours: Hours vary. Monday - Thursday Evening Group, 6pm, you will not be teaching each night. More hours could be likely. SUMMARY OF DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively work towards the eradication of interpersonal violence through prevention work with perpetrators of violence. Provide professional psycho-education curriculum to offenders of domestic violence who are recommended, or court ordered to complete a Batterer’s Intervention Program. Services include individual assessments, crisis intervention, and facilitating psycho-educational groups.
