The Cook position at A Catered Experience is a non-exempt role that reports directly to the Chef. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate preparation and cooking of all food products, ensuring a consistently high-quality product is delivered. The Cook will assist the Chef in managing all daily operations of the kitchen, which includes ensuring that all kitchen equipment is in working condition and thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. The role requires a proactive approach to food preparation, inventory management, and kitchen cleanliness, contributing to the overall success of the culinary team. In this role, the Cook will prepare for the day by gathering all necessary items for cooking food products in large quantities. They will cook menu items according to prescribed recipes, ensuring that each dish meets the established standards of quality and presentation. Additionally, the Cook will assist the Chef in maintaining inventory for goods stored in the chill, freezer, and dry/canned goods, conducting weekly checks to ensure stock levels are adequate. The Cook will also assist with packing and wrapping cooked items for each event, adhering to proper color codes for organization and efficiency. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen is a critical aspect of this position. The Cook will be responsible for the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly after use. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by the Chef, contributing to a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.
