About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of Growth, Innovation, and Product Competitiveness for GE Gas Power Business. The Plant Systems Integration Leader position is to be filled by a recognized leader in the gas power business. This person will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with the 9HA combined cycle plant platforms. Responsibilities will include ownership and accountability for leading horizontally across the Gas Power Engineering teams in creating system integrated solutions that create value for our customers and GE. Additionally, in coordination with other Platform Leaders and Systems Integration Leaders, 9HA Plant Systems Integration Leader will contribute product strategies; create MGPP and MGTP plans for the platforms; as well as be the champion of technology development that leads to state-of-the-art combined cycle performance and reliability that ensure competitiveness. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional engineering team to manage technical risk, lead continuous improvement, solve complex problems at the system level. Initial responsibilities will focus on 9HA projects with decarbonization and performance retention NPI scope.

Requirements

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

Responsibilities

  • Systems Integration: Provide Plant System Engineering expertise including product history, configuration control, performance limits and MGPP’s. Effectively balance product goals / understand trade-offs for: quality, performance, cost, reliability, operability, and emissions.
  • Organize Engineering Work : Organize engineering-team work and facilitate team interactions. Develop engineering resource plans and drive program to completion. 100% accountable for on time, on budget, and quality product deliverable.
  • Solve Customer Issues : Quickly and decisively solve customer issues related to product quality, performance, reliability, and operability to build goodwill and trust in GE.
  • Lead Program Execution : Lead execution of NPI programs to meet objectives for quality, schedule, cost, performance, and validation, working collaboratively across engineering organizations. multiple business functions. Ensure the application of the NPI Process and coordinate the organization of Technical Reviews together with the Chief Engineers Office.
  • Communicate and Abate Risk: Clearly identify and communicate technical and program risks. Devise, communicate and implement mitigation actions to lower these risks by working collaboratively across business functions.
  • Set Strategy and Communicate : Set and clearly communicate strategic direction to engineering teams. Enable GE to differentiate from its competitors and adapt to changing power-market environment for customers with consideration for regional differences.
  • Improve Work Processes: Collaboratively work across organizations (manufacturing, services, engineering, product management) to improve processes, role clarity, and tools to improve speed and effectiveness.
  • Support ITO: Prepare the applicable product documentation necessary for hand-over to ITO and submittal to partners and customers. Support the ITO (Inquiry To Order) team on commercial bidding activities and be prepared to be engaged with customers to provide meaningful insight and guidance that apply to their needs.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship to professional and lead professional engineers inside and outside of the team
