About The Position

Alma School District is seeking a CTE Business and Marketing Teacher responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Career and Technical Education standards. This position prepares students for postsecondary education and careers in business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and related fields. The teacher integrates academic, technical, and employability skills while promoting student leadership through Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related field
  • Valid Arkansas Teaching License with appropriate CTE Business/Marketing endorsement or qualifies for an Additional Licensure Plan approved by DESE
  • Experience teaching at the high school level
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications as required by DESE

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related field
  • 3 years experience in teaching CTE courses in Business and Marketing or industry experience in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, or management

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas CTE Business/Marketing frameworks
  • Teach courses such as Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Communications, and Career Readiness
  • Incorporate project-based learning, industry simulations, and real-world business applications
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications where applicable
  • Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments aligned with state standards
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and certification completion
  • Serve as advisor for DECA Inc.
  • Organize student participation in regional, state, and national competitions
  • Promote leadership development, community engagement, and workplace readiness skills
  • Maintain CTE program documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Participate in advisory committee meetings and professional development activities
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Knowledge of current business and marketing trends
  • Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning platforms
