About The Position

BakerRipley Community Schools is seeking a talented individual to join their team and make a positive impact in the lives of their students and the community. In this role, the teacher will use their skills and experience to provide excellent instruction, create welcoming classroom spaces, and meet the needs of all students as they work to help them achieve their full potential as an 8th Grade Math & Algebra I Lead Teacher.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience scaffolding for students who need additional support in accessing grade level content.
  • Track record of success teaching both advanced and remedial mathematics.
  • Valid Texas state certification or license as a teacher.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • ESL supplement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Internalize and deliver lesson plans aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for both 8th grade math and Algebra I.
  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Implement positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and other behavior management strategies
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Be able to interpret and explain student data and progress monitoring
  • Experience using technology and multimedia resources in the classroom
  • Stay current on best practices and developments in education
