Requirements

High school diploma
High school/college participation
Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit.
The ability to travel between locations.
College course work in the Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries.
Knowledge of the sport.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

Issues equipment and supervise the students’ care of it; check in and inventory equipment at the end of the season.
Supervises physical examinations and be certain that every athlete returns the necessary form signed by the doctor and parent.
Promotes a style of play consistent with the scope and sequence of the total program.
Prepares a daily practice schedule and make continued efforts to improve coaching techniques.
Dresses appropriately for coaching duties at practice and game time.
Adheres to policies and procedures established by the Sioux Falls School District.
Administers first aid to an injured player and take appropriate action such as notifying the family doctor, the parent, athletic director, and building principal.
Communicates between officials and coaches in professional manner.
Attends rules meetings and is familiar with the rules of the game.
Attends coaches meeting as deemed necessary by Coordinator of Athletics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
