About The Position

Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring & Seal (“KRS”) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS. Position Summary : The 4th Shift / 5th Shift Manager will manage, analyze and facilitate production activities on 4 th and 5 th shifts. The Area Manager will be responsible for delivering key performance indicators to include safety, quality, throughput and productivity metrics. The 4th Shift / 5th Shift Manager will report to the Production Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Person.
  • Minimum education HSD or GED with 6 years’ experience, AA degree with 4 years’ experience, BA degree with 4-years’ experience, or BS degree with 2 years.
  • Minimum of 4-years’ supervisory experience in manufacturing setting.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing exempt, direct personnel.
  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability with implementing continuous improvement philosophy that supported improving company metrics.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ blueprint reading with knowledge of GD&T symbols, and interpretation.
  • Experience working with lathes, mills, and grinding.
  • The ability to use precious hand tools for measurements such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, etc.
  • The ability to read and interpret results from a Comparator.
  • Experience in precision machining of very tight tolerance aerospace parts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and high confidence in providing recommendations.
  • Must have an inquisitive nature to understand how factory processes impact results to effect change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting production goals within time and budgetary constraints.
  • Experience in developing human capital through selection, teaching, training & mentoring.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate at all levels within the organization, both written & verbally.
  • Honesty and strong work ethic; Passion for supervising and problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for BS degrees in Engineering, Chemistry, and related degrees.
  • Experience in a QMS environment, AS9100 preferred.
  • OSHA-10, or OSHA-30 General Industry cardholder preferred.
  • LSS Green Belt, or LSS Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Union experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily production output and delivers corrective actions.
  • Independently analyzes product and equipment specifications and performance.
  • Executes a daily production meeting to review opportunities for improvement in shift performance.
  • Holds their teams accountable to all plant, quality, and safety rules.
  • Motivates all team members to achieve daily production goals.
  • Initiate continuous improvement activities that deliver KPI improvements.
  • Coach and mentor 4 th and 5 th shift supervisors to deliver consistent high-performance.
  • Act as a backup Supervisor when there is absenteeism.
  • Perform defect root cause analysis and mitigation.
  • Perform departmental administrative duties as assigned.
