About The Position

4K Teaching Assistant (Private School) Position Summary Happy Maryann Day School is seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic 4K Teaching Assistant to support our early childhood classrooms. The ideal candidate will assist lead teachers in delivering developmentally appropriate instruction while helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for our 4K students. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working collaboratively across classrooms, and can effectively communicate with both students and families in Mandarin and English .

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Coursework or training in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or daycare setting
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (required)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, flexible, dependable, and nurturing personality
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Nice To Haves

• Additional early childhood certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate, play-based curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and active engagement of children during instructional time, centers, meals, transitions, and outdoor play.
• Support positive behavior strategies, encourage social-emotional development, and help create an inclusive, respectful classroom culture.
• Provide additional assistance to students who may need extra academic, social, or behavioral support to fully participate in classroom activities.
• Communicate effectively with children and families in Mandarin and English , and assist in sharing daily updates and observations as directed by the Lead Teacher or administration.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and secure learning environment.
• Help prepare learning materials, organize classroom supplies, and support daily instructional activities.
• Participate in professional development and training related to early childhood education and best practices.
