About The Position

The East YMCA is looking for a professional, detailed oriented 4K Afternoon Lead Teacher that will create a fun and interactive environment in their classroom. The YMCA is well known for its dedication to families and the community, providing high quality, progressive early childhood education. The best qualified candidate will foster achievement, encourage belonging, act as a positive role model for children and staff, while developing and implementing age-appropriate activities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent
Lead Teacher classification recognized by Wisconsin State Licensing requirements.
Knowledge of general child growth and development, learning, and developmentally appropriate activities for children required.
Requires ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate members who have a variety of abilities and needs.
Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans

Responsibilities

Create fun and interactive learning experiences.
Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and company standards.
Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child.
Maintains proper records/department files.
Trains and provides guidance to and directs assistant teachers and volunteers as needed.
Manages emergencies, unusual circumstances and behavior.
Creates a supportive and uplifting work environment.
