About The Position

Bishop Flaget School is seeking a 4-Year-Old Preschool Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Bishop Flaget School is a Catholic PK–8 institution committed to academic excellence and the integral formation of each student in mind, body, and soul. Guided by the principles of Catholic liberal education, the school seeks to cultivate virtue, wisdom, and a lifelong love of learning within a faith-filled environment rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church. The 4-Year-Old Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a structured, joyful, and developmentally appropriate classroom that supports students ’ spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth. The successful candidate will foster curiosity, independence, and wonder while integrating Catholic values and early academic foundations into daily instruction. Familiarity with or training in the Montessori Method and/or Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is strongly preferred

Requirements

  • Bachelor ’ s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training
  • Commitment to Catholic education and child-centered learning
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster a joyful, structured, and nurturing classroom

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching preschool-aged children preferred
  • Familiarity with or training in Montessori and/or CGS strongly preferred
  • Practicing Catholic preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for 4-year-old students
  • Create a warm, faith-filled classroom rooted in Catholic values
  • Support early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development
  • Integrate prayer, virtue formation, and age-appropriate faith instruction
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student development
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the holistic formation of students
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Model and uphold the mission and identity of Bishop Flaget School
