About The Position

Interns will work with 4-H faculty and staff, assisting with educational programs and summer 4-H conferences/events, preparing communications materials and media relations, plus other duties as assigned. Seeks information from mentors and colleagues regarding the history, purpose, and mission of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. Works with 4-H Faculty and Staff to coordinate and implement educational program events and activities. Assists in preparations for planned events and activities by gathering information, assembling materials, contacting participants, and soliciting support from external sources. As appropriate, conducts the teaching, training, or other program presentation. In some cases, the intern may identify and develop a value-added process, program or training tool that may be implemented within the current operations. This contribution should provide a substantial addition to the intern’s resume as practical and applicable work experience. Internship is 12 weeks in the summer. Housing is provided at the Arkansas 4-H Center for minimal weekly fee.

Requirements

  • Students must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution
  • Possess a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale
  • Completed Freshman year of college by Summer 2026
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
  • Dependable
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Applicants may not currently be enrolled in the 4-H Program
