Outreach is hiring a Full-time 3rd - 4th Grade Elementary Teacher at Outreach Carol Stream to support students academically and in life skills during our summer program. Schedule Staff Training – June 1 to June 5 (MANDATORY) Program Dates – June 8 to July 31 Program Schedule – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Benefits & Compensation $20.00 - $23.50/hour - Based on education, experience, and language ability. Requirements
- BA in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- A passion for working with elementary-age students.
- Classroom or group experience with children.
- Experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families.
- A current, valid IL driver’s license, along with a good driving record, is required.
- A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission & Faith.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience facilitating experiential or service learning is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English) strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- The Elementary Teacher is responsible for building relationships with students and facilitating learning in the summer day program.
- The Elementary Teacher’s duties include academic and life skills instruction, community service and recreational activities, teaching Christian education, and facilitating group work with students involving experiential learning.
- The Elementary Teacher is responsible for parent communication and maintaining Outreach’s standard of classroom behavior during program time.
- The class size averages fifteen to twenty students.
