We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network. The 340B drug discount program is a vital part of the funding for hospitals. The program allows qualifying sites to purchase medications at a discounted price which are dispensed and administered to covered outpatients. It is regulated by the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). The program has many complexities that require qualifying hospitals to manage to ensure program compliance. The 340b Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining all aspects of the 340B Program including collaboration with key stakeholders: purchasing team members, split billing software vendor, 340B consulting group, all contracted retail pharmacies, and financial team within HHC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience required
  • Two (2) years of pharmacy experience or, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting required
  • Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
  • Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or Pharmacy-related field preferred
  • Previous 340B purchasing experience preferred
  • Three years of pharmacy purchasing responsibilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful maintenance of all aspects of the 340B purchasing program
  • Maintains all necessary databases for 340B split billing vendor software
  • Assists pharmacy purchaser to complete daily 340 purchases
  • Communicates with the Finance Team on 340B regulatory requirement
  • In conjunction with pharmacy director creates and maintains all required 340B policy and procedures
  • Acts in the role of pharmacy purchaser or in support pharmacy operations when required
  • Performs routine audits per policy to ensure compliance with 340B program requirements
  • Routinely assess performance of the 340B program and reports status to pharmacy director
  • Collaborates with HHC 340B Coordinators, 340B consultants, and reviews the HRSA website frequently to maintain awareness of regulatory actions
