About The Position

2nd VP, Head of Product Solutions will leverage data, research, and distributor feedback to shape product strategy, guide product delivery, and evaluate competitiveness across the entire solution. The 2nd VP, Head of Product Solutions partners closely with pricing to manage the product calendar, prioritize pricing actions, and develop features, riders, and benefits that drive consumer value and differentiation, while staying aligned with market and distribution trends. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in life insurance
  • Strong knowledge of broad marketplace with regards to illustrations, products, submission platforms, underwriting decisioning process. Also experience in product development process and understanding of what drives performance and profitability.
  • Experience in product management in originating and developing product solutions.
  • Ability to work in partnership and through collaboration execute and deliver across functions where there is not direct control.
  • Knowledge of independent distribution and existing distribution relationships
  • Ability to obtain market insights from sources including distribution partners. These insights assist in providing unique and competitive product solutions.
  • Understanding of various distribution sources (BGAs, Recruit and Build, MLM, etc) and needed offerings to drive positive distributor experience and meaningful growth

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and execution of an expanding markets product strategy
  • Partners with product pricing and distribution leadership to craft products that align with organization goals and long-term strategy, drive alignment on overall product roadmap and priorities
  • Collaborates with the pricing team in the development of product pricing assumptions and prioritizing competitive features
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams/projects to design and deliver competitive retail offerings
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and regulations that impact product development and management
  • Provide information to distribution and internal customers on how products compete with top sellers in the industry
  • Find ways to provide innovative features and products
  • Collaborate with marketing in the development of marketing strategies and campaigns to promote life products to target customers
  • Partner with execution teams to ensure organizational readiness for the launch of new product lines.
  • Work with Life Distribution team to establish and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners, ensuring that products are effectively promoted and sold through these channels
  • Review marketing material and policy forms for product accuracy
  • Create and update product specifications
  • Provide competition resources to monitor and analyze life product performance and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements. As well as monitor competition offerings of point of sales tools, underwriting and decisioning platforms to help inform strategy.
