The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor directs and coordinates the personnel, production, and packaging of products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Requirements

  • Two-year certificate from college or, other related technical field (experience may be considered in lieu of certificate).
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an operations environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Pallet jack and forklift license will be required and provided upon employment
  • First aid and CPR training will be required and provided upon employment
  • Ability to drive efficiency and productivity through new processes and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Know and follow HACCP, SOPs and SQF programs.
  • Cover Team Leader responsibilities that have time off.
  • Know and follow all Food Safety procedures.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment. For more information, see policy.
  • Monitor cleanliness within the plant as required by HACCP.
  • Assist in production activities to help insure it is running smoothly, and quality is being met.
  • Watch and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Support, make, and implement management decisions.
  • Resolve problems and drive continuous improvement. Promote a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for the compliance to production standards and product yields. Communication of results to team members.
  • Evaluation of personnel.
  • Management of overtime requirements.
  • Evaluate, support, and ensure proper training of employees. Retrain when necessary.
