Mizuho | Greenhill’s Summer Analyst program is an eleven-week program that offers the unique experience of working for a global bank that is rapidly expanding its presence in the United States. Over the last decade, Mizuho | Greenhill has built a leading position in Investment & Corporate Banking in the United States. The program is designed to immerse analysts into the daily activities of our various groups, helping Senior Bankers deliver a client solution approach across our entire product suite. We are looking for students with a strong academic record and a keen interest in the financial markets. Approximately 65 students are hired annually across the country, with the goal of hiring each intern as a full-time analyst following their graduation. During the eleven-week program, Summer Analysts take on the same responsibilities as Full-Time Analysts, working side-by-side with Senior Bankers on live projects for existing and prospective clients, as well as financing and advisory transactions. At the beginning of the internship program, Summer Analysts attend a one-week intensive training program held in New York to build a foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis, accounting and valuation. Development will continue through the summer as analysts work alongside industry coverage professionals on various projects. In addition, analysts will have opportunities to network with peers, mentors and senior bankers through organized events to help them integrate into the culture and atmosphere of Mizuho | Greenhill. Greenhill & Co., Inc., part of Mizuho Americas, is focused on providing financial advice on significant mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, financings and capital raising to corporations, partnerships, institutions and governments globally. It acts on behalf of clients throughout the world from its offices in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC .

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in the penultimate year with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 (If you receive a return offer your analyst role will start in July 2028)
• Minimum GPA of 3.5
• Basic knowledge of and interest in financial concepts
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to act as a leader and a team player
• Possess a strong work ethic
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build financial models with valuation support, including discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, leveraged buyout and merger combination analyses
• Develop and prepare client presentations and materials with a focus on quality, accuracy and timeliness
• Perform comprehensive research on a broad array of markets, industries and companies
• Develop M&A execution expertise across buy-side, sell-side and other strategic advisory mandates
• Interact with senior bankers, product partners and clients on M&A processes
• Participate in the evaluation, preparation, due diligence and execution of M&A transactions
• Coordinate with relevant groups across Mizuho | Greenhill
• Cultivate positive attitude with the team
• Create an extensive capstone project—incorporating M&A modeling, valuation analysis and industry research to construct a comprehensive presentation—and present it to senior bankers at the end of program
