About The Position

Lifecycle Engineering (LCE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Our LCE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. We seek professionals with a drive to work in teams or independently as required, and the ability to apply technical competencies with creative ingenuity in solving technical software or systems problems while exceeding customers’ expectations. The Systems Engineer will interface with both internal and external customers and attend and brief working groups, Program Design Reviews, and Technical Interface Meetings. An ideal candidate will be able to review technical information and recommend a solution and/or create content for required product area. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of system sustainment. This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below: (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

Requirements

  • Must be a Junior, senior, or post graduate student by the start of summer 2026 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Active and transferable US government issues security clearance is required prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA preferred
  • Exposure with logistics, sustainment, support plans, integration, and/or life cycle management principles.
  • Active and in-scope US Security of Secret or higher
  • Strong analytical, customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
  • Experience or coursework in System Design
  • Ability to influence product design to optimize product supportability
  • Familiarity with associated Military and Commercial supportability Standards and Practices.
  • or prior military service operating and/or maintaining various defense systems
  • Ability to review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with existing standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis supporting system design with respect to Reliability, Maintainability, Logistics support and other sustainment disciplines.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with existing standards.
  • Research content and glean information from technical, soft skills and/or business documentation as well as engineering personnel or other technical subject matter experts.
  • Identify concerns, suggest solutions, and follow through to closure
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
