About The Position

Plastics Family Americas Supply Chain Interns will gain hands-on experience with the end-to-end plastics supply chain. This will include helping onboard new vendors, organizing and validating vendor and product data, monitoring inbound shipments, and supporting the process to ensure our locations are receiving their orders in full and on time. Working alongside our supply chain, sales and accounting teams, you’ll help keep product flowing to our branches and customers across North America. The Supply Chain Intern will complete tasks assigned by the supply chain team, which may include researching new products and suppliers, supporting vendor onboarding, managing active purchase orders, tracking shipments, analyzing pricing and product data, and assisting with process improvement projects. Successful internships will be considered for full-time employment upon graduation. Students with supply chain, logistics, operations, or industrial distribution coursework are preferred, but not required. Supply chain internships are available at our Irving, Texas office. Internships are held for 10 weeks, June–August.

Requirements

• Current junior or senior in a university program (supply chain or industrial distribution preferred)
• Interested in pursuing a career in procurement, supply chain or logistics
• Comfortable working with data and systems (Excel and/or other business tools)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and passion for learning

Nice To Haves

• Students with supply chain, logistics, operations, or industrial distribution coursework are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn how a wholesale distribution supply chain operates from vendor to warehouse to customer
• Support vendor onboarding and maintenance by helping gather documentation and keep product and pricing information up to date.
• Assist with monitoring inbound shipments and open orders, helping communicate status updates to branches and internal partners.
• Participate in process improvement and data-driven projects that support supply chain efficiency and customer service.
• Review internal supply chain KPIs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Internships last 10 weeks in a local office, completing 40 hours per week as a full-time supply chain intern. Limited travel may be included, such as attending the Intern Onboarding Training
