The Agency Contact listed above will be able to provide specific benefits information for this position. 2026 Summer Laborer (Guernsey County) What You Will Do: Flag/traffic control for highway maintenance Drive pickup truck to set out/pick up signs & follow mowing crew Roadside litter pickup, clean &/or wash vehicles & equipment Clean/hose down garage areas. Use weed eater to trim around buildings, fences, etc. Help clean up roadsides when work crews are cutting brush/tree trimming Answer phone &/or radio when clerk is unavailable ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION. This position is overtime eligible based FLSA Standards. This position is unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29). The final applicants selected for these positions will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment. All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship for an employment visa is not currently available for positions with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Background Check: The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
