About The Position

The Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Corporate Security (CS) internship is for undergraduate and graduate students interested in private sector intelligence and threat analysis. Interns will support the Global Security Risk Intelligence (GSRI) Team, which provides insights on security risks and trends affecting BMS globally. Interns will work with full-time analysts in areas such as All-Source Intelligence Analysis, Threat & Risk Assessments, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, and the Physical Security-Global Response and Operations Center (GROC). The program aims to develop well-rounded corporate intelligence professionals and familiarize them with BMS and similar global enterprises through various meetings and projects. The GSRI intern will produce intelligence reports on risks to BMS employees, assets, partners, brands, and reputation. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing data, creating intelligence deliverables, and enhancing the GSRI program. In addition to the functional areas listed above, the intern should be eager to learn about best practices in private sector intelligence and the role that intelligence plays in supporting global commerce. The position requires working during regular U.S. business hours. The hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $23 to $25/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job. Compensation details are subject to change. 2026 Summer Internship Timeline: Mid-May to Mid-August, 50% onsite in Lawrenceville, N.J.

Requirements

  • Preferred fields of study: Intelligence Studies, Criminology, Forensic Science, Political Science, International Relations, Defense & Security Studies, Journalism, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in school through Fall 2026 semester.
  • Technical proficiency: MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Webex
  • Analytical skills: Basic understanding of regional geopolitics and international security threats (e.g., criminal groups, civil unrest, terrorism)
  • Professional competencies: Strong communication (verbal & written)

Nice To Haves

  • Desired experience: Physical Security, Risk & Crisis Management, Security Operations Center (SOC) programs
  • Ability to develop working level knowledge of applications such as i2 Analyst Notebook, Everbridge Global Mapping program (or equivalent, e.g., ArcGis/ESRI)
  • Language proficiency in English and any foreign language
  • Understanding of Intelligence work at the Tactical, Operational and Strategic levels

Responsibilities

  • Assist CS team members with curation and analysis of intelligence from a wide variety of open and internal sources in support of key CS functional areas and business units
  • Produce intelligence reports and other related products to support various internal customers
  • Provide consistent monitoring of global incidents and events that could impact the pharmaceutical industry and associated security implications
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of CS Crisis Management risk intelligence assessments and associated action plan identifying threat/risk gaps and providing mitigation recommendations
  • Evaluate the CS Business Impact Analysis and risk assessment documents that apply to critical security functions and responsibilities
  • Provide timely risk intelligence in support of CS Crisis Management and Response plans to ensure effective preparedness, mitigation and analysis of 2nd and 3rd order effects after disruptive events (e.g. natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, crime, civil unrest, strikes/riots, kidnapping, political instability, terrorism, activism, malicious attacks, economic interruptions, cyber-attacks, and transportation-related catastrophes)
  • Interface with the GROC Manager and GSRI analysts monitoring international events impacting employees, travelers, owned/leased sites and critical third parties through internal monitoring applications and public open-source media
  • Support CS and GSRI with information that will assist BMS associates in emergency situations
  • Contribute to routine intelligence reporting focused on key regions and functional areas (e.g. physical security, business continuity, illegal trade, criminal investigations, supply chain cyber-security and activism)
  • Ability to work with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds, countries of origin, and at varying levels within the corporate structures
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communications regarding departmental and/or employee concerns
  • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures and make suggestions for improving methods, efficiencies, and services
