About The Position

This internship is based in the Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team which drives data excellence and analytics to power enhanced decision-making and evidence-generation within Roche Product Development. We develop and implement data strategies that unlock the value of clinical, operational, and real-world data to accelerate evidence generation, decision-making, and innovation across PD and beyond. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. This internship is within the data innovation group of RWCDS. The goal will be to develop novel tools and analytic frameworks to be used by Data Strategy and Analytics specialists as well as Real-World Data Scientists. The use of advanced analytics and AI-powered applications with a “human-in-the-loop” is central to our vision of accelerating the translation of data into actionable evidence.

Requirements

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree within the last year.
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
  • Must have attained a PhD within the last year.
  • Required Majors: Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data innovation strategies by partnering with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Build workflows capable of automating complex tasks. For instance, this may involve creating LangChain agents to extract structured data from an AACT API.
  • Design a validation study to evaluate the accuracy of data innovation tools.
  • Prototype an interface to allow scientists to interact with the data innovation tools.

Benefits

  • 6 months paid internship, first 12 weeks must be full time (40 hours/week) onsite, while the rest can be either full time or part time, remote or onsite, with the opportunity to extend to up to 9 months.
