The Position 2026 Summer Intern – Molecular Labs Research and Early Development We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. Department Summary You will be joining a team of the Research and Early Development chapter area in the broader Roche Diagnostic organization to drive the discovery and development of innovative solutions that have real impact on people’s lives. Collaborating with the team members with diverse backgrounds, you will work hands-on in developing the novel molecular diagnostic applications at point-of-care. This internship position is located in Pleasanton , on-site .

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
  • Biomedical, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or associated sub-disciplines
  • Comprehensive knowledge in genomics and molecular biology
  • Lab experience with proteomic or enzymatic reaction
  • Experience with workplace software
  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly, and appreciate the learning by doing philosophy.
  • Ability to work independently in the lab and balance multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with molecular biology techniques such as PCR and qPCR
  • Experience with structural biology and related analysis tools
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct exploratory research on next-generation molecular diagnostics.
  • Develop analytical characterization approaches for proteins and nucleic acids.
  • Contribute to the integration of novel diagnostic applications.
  • Perform data analysis, report generation, and deliver verbal and poster presentations to the local team and project stakeholders.
