About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our DPO Process Improvement team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of simplification in the Sterile Manufacturing Area within a dynamic and supportive environment. The intern will assist in the evaluation, consolidation strategy and implementation of a simplified approach to Standard Operating Procedures and On-The-Job Trainings for the Sterile Manufacturing Area. The intern will gain valuable insights into the processes that support employee growth and organizational development. Program dates: June 2026 to August 2026.

Requirements

  • Applicants must attend an accredited university in Puerto Rico or reside in Puerto Rico.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Seniors graduating in Spring or Summer 2026 are eligible to apply only if they will be continuing their education for the following semester (Fall 2026).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Attention to detail for reviewing and simplifying documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and aptitude for learning new digital tools.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn about sterile manufacturing and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Adaptability and openness to feedback for personal and professional development.
  • Initiative and enthusiasm to engage in process improvement activities and contribute fresh ideas.
  • Professionalism and integrity in handling confidential information and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation of current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and On-The-Job Trainings (OJTs) in the Sterile Manufacturing Area, identifying opportunities for simplification and efficiency.
  • Assist in the consolidation and redesign of documentation to align with best practices for process improvement and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and facilitate the development of user-friendly and effective SOPs and OJTs.
  • Participate in the implementation of simplified processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops focused on process excellence and employee development.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and the use of measurement tools to assess the impact of simplification strategies.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and engaged approach to learning about sterile manufacturing processes and organizational development.
  • Uphold the values of teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement within a dynamic and supportive team environment.
