About The Position

Cellanome is a well-funded start-up focused on tackling some of the biggest challenges in biology by developing next-generation technologies for cellular analysis. As a Summer Intern, reporting to the Vice President of Intellectual Property, you will gain exposure to patent work within a corporation that develops research tools for cellular analysis.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD student in a biology-related field
  • Able to commit to a 10-12 week program during Summer 2026
  • Interest in patent law and either planning to attend law school or currently attending law school
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following: cellular imaging, CRISPR editing and/or screening, machine learning, and transcriptomics

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to drafting patent applications that cover commercially relevant technologies
  • Assist Intellectual Property group in assessing 3rd party patents (freedom-to-operate/landscape)
  • Work with R&D scientists to gather technical details for patent applications
  • Collaborate with patent agents and paralegals to learn about legal processes
