About The Position

We are seeking an intern to provide utility program support for ICF’s Energy Efficiency Division. The intern will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. Interns at ICF have an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, interact with experts and clients in the field, and build content knowledge and consulting skills. This is an entry-level, 10-week, full time internship that begins in early June 2026. Work will be hybrid (minimum 2x per week) from our Columbia, MD office. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour. At this time, relocation and housing assistance is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required preferably energy or environment, business, economics, engineering or related subject.
  • Must be able to pass any required background check(s), which may include drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with data collection and data analysis
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and databases for internal tracking and project management
  • Supporting client-facing semi-annual reporting efforts
  • Assisting in preparation of internal and client deliverables
  • Helping to document processes and develop process improvements and/or automation
  • Contributing to energy analysis and measure development (skillset dependent)
  • Supporting Program Delivery teams with client presentations and relaying key program results both internally and to clients
  • Developing program opportunities to support client clean energy goals
  • Reviewing existing program processes to identify areas for efficiency opportunities.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with program implementation team members as well as other departments such as Marketing, IT and Customer Care
  • Ongoing communications with participating service providers to collect information and assess opportunities for program improvement (role dependent)
  • Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and calculations for energy efficiency measures and projects (skillset dependent)
