2026 Summer Intern - Discovery Oncology
About The Position
The Department of Discovery Oncology is seeking a talented and motivated summer intern to join the biology research efforts to identify and characterize the next generation of oncology targets. In this role, the candidate will use molecular biology and high content imaging techniques to dissect the mechanistic role of intrinsically disordered protein regions in chromatin regulation, oncogenesis and therapeutic intervention. The position allows the unique opportunity to participate in basic biology research deeply embedded in drug discovery efforts. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, onsite.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
- Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
- Hands-on research experience in cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology lab environment is required

- Interest in biomolecular condensates, intrinsically disordered proteins, chromatin and transcriptional regulation
Responsibilities
- Work together with other scientists in the group to design and execute experiments using cell culture and confocal microscopy imaging techniques
- Keep detailed records of the research findings using an electronic notebook
- Communicate and present results to a diverse group of scientists during internal meetings
