2026 Summer Intern - Discovery Oncology
About The Position
The Department of Discovery Oncology is seeking a talented and motivated summer intern to join the biology research efforts to identify and characterize the next generation of oncology targets. In this role, the candidate will use cell biology and in vitro biochemistry techniques to mechanistically dissect the molecular pathways conferring cancer dependency. The position allows the unique opportunity to participate in basic biology research deeply embedded in drug discovery efforts. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, onsite
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
- Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related
- Hands-on research experience in cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology lab environment is required

- Experience in advanced cell culture techniques such as RNAi, cell line engineering using CRISPR/Cas9 or PiggyBac transposase systems
- Experience with biochemical techniques such as protein purification and in vitro reconstitution experiments is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work together with other scientists in the group to design and execute experiments using cell culture and in vitro biochemistry techniques
- Keep detailed records of the research findings using an electronic notebook
- Communicate and present results to a diverse group of scientists during internal meetings
