About The Position

Let's talk about 'em: As an Ohio EPA intern, you will participate in Ohio EPA's College Intern program by assisting with routine duties and project requests.

Requirements

  • MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE DEGREE PROGRAM DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION OR HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED WITHIN THE QUARTER/SEMESTER IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE START DATE .
  • Major area of study\: data analytics, statistical analysis, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics and statistics.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable..
  • Skills in computers (word processing and database work).
  • Job Skills: Software development/implementation , Information Technology, Interpreting Data, Customer Focus.

Responsibilities

  • Use ArcGIS Pro and other GIS software to analyze geospatial data and fulfill mapping requests.
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and reporting of Ohio EPA’s geospatial data.
  • Participate in the development of map-based apps, such as StoryMaps, dashboards, and Experience Builder applications.
  • Receive training in aspects of office and project coordination activities.
  • Receive orientation to all program areas, including:
  • - Monitoring helpdesk email
  • - Creating tickets
  • - Dispatching technicians
  • - Assisting customers with basic troubleshooting of computer problems
  • - Follow up with customers and close tickets
  • Receive training in aspects of business logic for software projects
  • Receive training for automated software testing.
  • Perform manual and automated software testing.
  • Create bug tickets and follow up with customers using Jira software
  • Perform Regression tests
