What We Need YOU To Do: The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest summer intern in the Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW). We have multiple positions to choose from. Essentials. Let's talk about 'em: Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) (Logan, Twinsburg, Bowling Green): · Assist with and conducts RTCR compliance outreach and implementation. · Assist with HAB compliance outreach and implementation. Conducts HAB sampling. · May assist with lead and copper rule compliance activities. · Consumer Notice assistance · Assist with Harmful Algal Bloom compliance follow-up sampling, · Assist with data management and coordinate with laboratories when compliance issues arise. · Attend HAB workgroup meetings · Assist with Treatment Optimization Protocols (TOP) documents. · Create review notes and comment letters for public water systems as a part of the plan review process. · HAB program support and assistance including field work prep, sampling, delivery samples and supplies. Engineering (Columbus, Twinsburg, Dayton)\: · Review Distribution Plans. · Assist with construction site visits. · Assist with field inspections.. Engineering and Funding - (Logan): · Assist in researching and tracking related to funding and asset management. · Provide general support for the funding coordinator. Assist with violation tracking. · Gather supporting documentation, identifying compliance dates and outreach to water systems for additional information. · Review waterline engineering packages for completeness and perform outreach if incomplete. · Assist with data management and file clean up. · Provide support for general division tracking. · Incidents/disruption of service reporting requirements. · Outreach to water systems for monitoring requirement reminders. · Target outreach related to mini grants. · Back up HAB courier. Asset Management (Columbus): · Assist with Metrics review/NOV development/tracking. · Development of supplemental materials such as standard operating procedures, flow charts and guidance documents. · Assist in the development of presentations. · Assist in website updates. Lead and Copper (Columbus): Lead Consumer Notice assistance (review and verify forms, assist with outreach) Sample Monitoring Point review (assistance with corrections, outreach, uploads) Service Line Inventory ingestion/review/follow-up/outreach Service Line Inventory Material Notifications review/follow-up/outreach Assistance with the new Lead and Copper Rule (guidance, factsheets, etc.) Attend presentations, Action Level Exceedance responses, site visits, water plant tours, etc. Provide general assistance with lead and copper rule-related tasks. SWAP (Logan, Twinsburg): · Complete SWAP SI survey. · Conduct Ambient Sampling. · Complete PCSI field visits. · Help Complete GIS SWAP Work. · Help with new well site completion. · Help revise/update SWAP assessment reports.
