The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest summer intern in the Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC). We have multiple positions to choose from. Essentials. Let's talk about 'em: E Check; Mobile Source Section (MSS) (Twinsburg): Participate in Ohio EPA’s College Intern program by assisting the technical staff with routine duties. Assist the Unit Supervisor in research and review of technical documents related to compliance with federal and state environmental rules and regulations. Assist with audit program and perform field work, including conducting covert audits of test stations. Enter and compile data, prepare and edit reports, and maintain records. Permitting and Compliance (Twinsburg, Logan) Participate in Ohio EPA’s College Intern program. Assist technical staff with routine duties. Help analyze air pollution sources to determine regulation compliance. Assist in the review of air permit applications. Enter and compile data, reports, and records using Microsoft Office tools and Agency software. Assist air monitoring staff in routine maintenance of the monitors or sites and conduct complaint investigations. Business Operations and Support (Columbus): Participate in Ohio EPA’s College Intern program. Assist permit issuance staff with routine duties. Complete technical review and processing of emissions reporting from companies Air Quality Evaluation and Planning (Columbus): Participate in Ohio EPA’s College Intern program. Research to improve and update Emission Factors for various sectors of emissions inventory GIS and R work to expand upon and develop mapping and analysis for monitoring and emissions inventory data Assessment and cleanup of monitoring site and monitor data in Air databases Automation of regularly produced monitoring data tables and products Ready to level up your experience? Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program directly related to the position or have recently graduated within the quarter/semester immediately preceding the start date.
  • Major area of study\: Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical) or relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable.
  • Skills in computers (word processing and database work)
  • Job Skills: Environmental Services, Clerical & Data Entry, Regulatory Compliance, Attention to Details, Written Communication, Customer Focus
