About The Position

As an Intern in the Automation Engineering Team, you will work amongst a cross-functional team to develop end effectors and actuators for use in precision automated processes. You will use mechanical CAD and 3D printing to rapidly iterate. Your role will be hands on, assembling and testing your designs and reporting your results. In this role, you will report to the Director of Automation Engineering. You Will Make an Impact By: • Developing and implement designs for robotic end effectors • Working and testing robotic actuators and processes. • Assisting with optics mounting process development. • Documentation and reporting of results • Rapidly iterating using 3D printing • Travel Requirements: No travel required

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in relevant field.
  • Entry level knowledge of SolidWorks and 3D printing.
  • Understanding of mechanics, stresses and ability to design basic actuators.
  • Basic programming knowledge. Python programming preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with optics and delicate components.
