About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated intern level Engineer to join the System Safety Engineering Team at Raytheon. Interns will learn MIL-STD-882E Safety processes and perform safety tasks and analysis. They will assist in the development of plans and reports for key Safety focus areas, support the interpretation of system requirements and customer specifications, and aid in the investigation and development of new technology beneficial to System Safety. Interns will also collaborate with integrated product teams to learn hazard elimination and control, and participate in technical reviews for safety approval. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Learn MIL-STD-882E Safety processes and perform safety tasks and analysis in support of that guidance.
  • Assist in the development of plans and reports to address key Safety focus areas.
  • Support the interpretation of system requirements and customer specifications.
  • Assist in the investigation and development of new technology that can benefit System Safety.
  • Assist in working across integrated product teams to learn to eliminate hazards and/or provide effective controls.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical reviews as a part of the safety approval process.
