You’ll provide daily technical input to ensure the efficient and high-quality production of composite structures, including process engineering related to composite materials. Additionally, you will offer analytical and organizational support to the Engineering Group Leader and Engineering Manager as needed. Our Kent, WA location is seeking a 2026 Manufacturing Engineer - Corporate Summer Intern Summary pay range: $21.00 -$23.00 hourly wage rate. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Interpret customer and internal drawings, specifications, processes, and procedures. Responsible for BOM and Route creation and maintenance, quote support, and process/product improvement. Update/create manufacturing and tooling plans with illustrations. Coordinate manufacturing and tooling plans with design. Work with production personnel to build the product in a cost-effective way that meets the customer’s requirements. Perform reviews of new drawings/specs and spec revisions. Analyze designs for producibility. Assess new program start-up issues. Continuous Improvement - Implement process improvement and standardization. Calculate ROI on productivity and design improvements. Identify and create cause and corrective action plans through thorough Root Cause Analysis. Develop and implement measurement plans for data collection and analysis. Assess and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and customers.

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in engineering or other closely related field of study preferred.
  • Proficiency in PC and CAD software is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills required, including the ability to identify problems, interpret complex technical instructions, gather and analyze data, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245 (A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
  • 10-week paid full-time position.
  • Stipend will be provided for interns residing over 50 miles from location to assist with housing and transportation for eligible drivers (interns are responsible for any out of budget expense)

  • In-house Hexcel Intern Program Specialist available for logistics assistance/questions/concerns during entire internship
