Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon’s Advanced Airframes (AA) department focuses on leading-edge development programs. Mechanical engineers in this department support a variety of design spaces and some of the toughest challenges, often bringing whiteboard concepts to life. The department is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support design and development efforts in such areas as mechanical systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. The position is for an ON-SITE role within the AA Team in Tucson, AZ. You would apply your skills to contribute to the design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines. This position is in Tucson, Az (Onsite)

Requirements

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • 3.5 or above cumulative GPA desired
  • Prior engineering project or internship experience
  • Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
  • Experience with Windchill and configuration management

Responsibilities

  • Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM
  • Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
  • Engineering Change and Drawing Release
  • Collaboration with coworkers and teams.
  • Analytical and Technical engineering work within a program environment with possible presentations on designs as needed.
  • Training on Raytheon processes and procedures
