Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) designs and develops electronics and test equipment for RF and EW sensors. HWEC provides engineering, technology development, and manufacturing support for an extensive line of airborne and ground-based systems. Seeking highly motivated Electrical Engineering Interns to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and electronics product development for defense applications. Raytheon EW engineering provides challenging technical opportunities for graduating university entry level engineers to work with mentors who are experts in their field alongside your peers and engineers in other disciplines, all in a collaborate design and laboratory environment. We offer the opportunity to contribute to innovative technical solutions in a wide array of applications that develop and enhance your technical skills. The positions will be located in Goleta, California.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their junior year by the start of summer 2026.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Major: Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
  • Strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on lab experience with ability to work with hardware and lab equipment
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects

Responsibilities

  • Simulate, implement and debug firmware – VHDL, Verilog.
  • Perform circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance.
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware for test and verification.
  • Test Analog/Digital/RF components and modules.
  • Support development of Special Test Equipment (STE) for testing Electronics equipment.
  • Perform testing on prototype hardware.
  • Interact with test technicians, suppliers, program managers, other engineers, and internal/external customers.
