Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Our Systems Engineering team is looking for a dynamic intern to join their team in the Tucson, AZ office. We are an energetic multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively with internal and external customers to develop novel solutions for data science and emerging technology applications. Our team pushes the boundaries of innovation and creativity to establish next-generation mission solutions from system-level up to campaign level. What You Will Do You will contribute your knowledge of programming, rapid prototyping, building and testing to autonomy programs doing demonstrations on Unmanned Aerial Systems. You will support, contribute, and collaborate in a team environment, receiving input and guidance from functional management, project leads, and more experienced teammates. You will gain an initial understanding of autonomy and unmanned systems by participating in behavior development, integration and testing of UAS, and rapid prototyping.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s (or higher) degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Must be an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their junior year by the start of summer 2026.
  • Experience with software development in Python and/or C++.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific majors: Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related scientific or STEM discipline .
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Git, databases, Linux/UNIX
  • Knowledge of C++
  • Experience working with teams
  • Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Experience with integration and testing of hardware/software on UAS
