The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate End User Platforms Intern for a full-time onsite opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The Device Management Engineering team, responsible for the development and sustainment of endpoint security tools that help secure Aerospace’s classified and unclassified enterprise IT environment is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate intern for an internship opportunity to help support both endpoint vulnerability remediation efforts and tool sets used to manage critical enterprise business services.

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security or related discipline
  • Junior class standing completed by internship start date
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency at using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash for automating tasks
  • Good understanding of common networking protocols, encryption standards and the Windows operating system
  • Understanding of at least one cybersecurity best practice/framework, such as NIST, MITRE, ATT&CK Framework, and OWASP top 10
  • Experience with a programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government.
  • U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience with common vulnerability scanning tools, and developing procedures, reports and processes
  • Experience with managing endpoints using endpoint management tools (MECM/SCCM/Intune/Jamf)
  • Experience with assessing and remediating vulnerabilities
  • Experience with a version control system such as Git
  • Strong interest in exploring machine learning or language model tools for automation and reporting workflows
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or via Python libraries

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Vulnerability Management team in identifying potential security risks within the organization
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities in our systems and processes
  • Work closely with team members to develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified risks
  • Coordinate vulnerability tracking and remediation across all endpoints including Windows, Mac, iOS and Linux
  • Investigate and resolve inconsistencies in reporting and remediations
  • Design automated solutions to remediate endpoint vulnerabilities
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting
  • Evaluate, rate and perform risk assessments on assets
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
  • Training and mentorship will be provided
