This consultant will work closely with senior cybersecurity team members to review firewall configurations, analyze network security controls, and deliver clear, actionable findings to clients. The role is designed as a growth opportunity, with hands-on exposure to enterprise environments, mentorship, and potential collaboration with cyber lab resources. Your role. Your work will include, but not be limited to: Review client network and firewall configurations to assess security posture, configuration quality, and alignment with best practices Review client Cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and resources for security gaps, configuration quality, and alignment with best practices. Analyze firewall rule sets, policies, and network segmentation for security gaps and improvement opportunities Produce clear, professional written reports summarizing findings, risks, and remediation recommendations Support security reviews of client environments and commonly used platforms (e.g. Microsoft/Linux Servers, and Virtualization platforms) by analyzing product configurations and security capabilities Collaborate closely with senior consultants, and work alongside penetration testing and attack teams as part of broader security engagements Assist in maintaining consistent delivery capacity by building expertise that supports team scheduling and availability Participate in ongoing skill development, including potential work within a cyber lab environment Demonstrate professional judgment, including awareness of potential conflicts of interest and appropriate handling of sensitive client data

Requirements

  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, network services)
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, access control, and segmentation
  • Exposure to firewall technologies (hardware and/or software-based), with an interest in developing deeper firewall engineering expertise
  • Exposure to and understanding of Cloud technologies with an interest in Cloud architecture and developing a deeper knowledge of multiple cloud platforms.
  • Ability to understand and review technical configurations and translate findings into clear written documentation
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate within cross-functional technical teams and professional clients
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, with the exception of qualified candidates who are bilingual in either Japanese and English or Chinese and English.
