About The Position

This is a summer / fall co-op opportunity in Norwood, MA from July 13, 2026 – December 11, 2026. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the co-op. Start date will be July 13, 2026. CMC Quantitative Sciences supports data-driven decision-making within manufacturing and technical development. The team works on statistics, data analysis, modeling, data products, and advanced analytics that deepen quantitative knowledge and drive sound CMC decisions. The team has wide impact across CMC, performing design of experiments, statistical analyses, developing predictive and monitoring tools, and providing quantitative support to control strategies and regulatory submissions. Here’s What You’ll Do Work with a team of highly skilled statisticians, modelers, scientists, and data scientists to come up to speed on technology and skills. Leverage your educational background within industrial context: perform data analysis, model experimental data, develop reusable programming tools or data products, and document formal reports including conclusions and recommended next steps. Participate in planning, design, execution, analysis of experiments and use experimental data for process understanding, risk assessments, and process control strategies. Exploring and/or implementing new statistical methods or models in Python/R for stability and unit operations. Programming reusable scripts/tools for standard statistical analysis, data processing, and visualization; Developing data products for process monitoring and pattern recognition. Multivariate analyses on high-dimensional analytical data to advance drug characterization technologies. Review and share relevant academic literature to identify research and development opportunities. Prepare technical reports and present finding in cross-functional meetings. Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Current student enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for the evaluation of experimental data
  • Candidates must already hold work authorization in US and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship.
  • This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in probability theory, statistics, and/or machine learning
  • Programming experience in R/Python on data analysis
  • Technical curiosity and passion about learning new skills
