The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program supports doctoral research at the Cuban Heritage Collection (CHC). The goal of the Goizueta Graduate Fellowships is to engage emerging scholars with the materials available in the CHC and thus contribute to the larger body of scholarship in Cuban and Cuban diaspora studies. Applicants with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of Cuba and/or its diaspora, in any time period, are encouraged to apply. Applicants with comparative projects are welcome to apply as well. Launched in 2010 with a generous grant from The Goizueta Foundation, the program has grown to support the research of 164 emerging scholars from over 50 universities. In 2015 the Foundation made a $1 million gift to endow the program as part of the University’s Momentum2 campaign, allowing the CHC to continue awarding research funding to doctoral students and candidates enrolled in universities across the United States. About the CHC The Cuban Heritage Collection at the University of Miami Libraries is home to the largest repository of materials dedicated to Cuba outside of the island and the most comprehensive collection of resources about Cuban exile history and the global Cuban diaspora experience. As a premier research destination, the Collection hosts researchers, students, and visitors from around the world who can explore and discover a wide and ever-expanding range of information. CHC serves as a center for knowledge preservation, creation, and dissemination for the Cuban diaspora, the scholarly community, and the broader public. In that spirit, the Collection aims to strengthen its position as a leading site for the promotion and discussion of research in Cuban Studies. AWARD CATEGORIES 1.
