Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a golf professional at a private club or resort; luxury or Forbes-rated property experience preferred.
  • PGA of America Associate or Member (Level 1 minimum).
  • College degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Golf Genius tournament software (required).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills, including POS and reservation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in tournament operations, golf shop merchandising, and golf operations leadership.
  • Ability to work long shifts (10–12 hours) as business levels require.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy items safely.
  • Ability to operate golf cars safely and responsibly.
  • Fast-paced, high-volume environment requiring grace, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Duties performed both indoors and outdoors based on operational needs.
  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions across resort property.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional appearance and grooming in accordance with luxury resort standards, including proper uniform and name badge.
  • Provide exceptional guest and member service, anticipating needs and resolving concerns with professionalism and poise.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and service-driven work environment for all golf operations staff.
  • Promote all resort and club offerings enthusiastically, ensuring alignment with the property’s elevated service culture.
  • Serve as a visible leader on the course and in the golf shop, addressing guest inquiries and resolving concerns to ensure a consistently high level of service.
  • Lead, train, and mentor golf shop attendants (retail sales associates) to ensure exceptional service and adherence to operational standards.
  • Assign daily responsibilities, including assisting guests, merchandising, handling transactions, and maintaining the golf shop and resort suite.
  • Oversee daily golf shop operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, sales reporting, and tee sheet management.
  • Oversee and enforce adherence to POS policies and procedures among all retail sales associates.
  • Assist in managing the special orders process, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely fulfillment of guest requests.
  • Collaborate with the Club Retail Manager on merchandising strategies, promotional initiatives, and inventory management.
  • Monitor product trends and guest preferences, providing input for merchandise selection and shop improvements.
  • Maintain records of shop sales, inventory, and staff assignments, providing operational feedback and recommendations.
  • Support the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf in managing all day-to-day golf operations, including:
  • Golf shop management and merchandising
  • Tournament operations utilizing Golf Genius software
  • Golf car fleet operations
  • Practice facility operations
  • Additional golf-related programming as needed
  • Oversee the full guest bag experience, from arrival to departure, including coordination of club shipping.
  • Monitor and adjust the tee time reservation system, ensuring accuracy and an exceptional booking experience.
  • Oversee and support proper use of the POS system and reservation software.
  • Update reservation policies and procedures in alignment with operational needs and service standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, staffing schedules, and guest interactions.
  • Analyze operational performance and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Work closely with management to develop strategies that enhance guest satisfaction, streamline operations, and optimize revenue from rental clubs and outside services.
  • Serve as a visible leader and role model, upholding the resort’s All In/Omni culture and Forbes service expectations.
  • Represent the Club and Resort professionally within the local and national golf community through organizations such as PGA, CMAA, and USGA.
  • Demonstrate a passion for junior golf development, supporting clinics and programming for members and resort guests.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail across all golf operations staff.
