About The Position

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a high-performing, public K–12 charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts, serving more than 1,750 students across four campuses: Kindergarten: 576 Eastern Avenue Lower School (Grades 1–8): 770 Salem Street High School (Grades 9–12): 238 and 306 Highland Avenue Drawing students from Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield, MVRCS provides a structured, academically rigorous environment grounded in high expectations and strong student outcomes. The school operates on an extended day (8:00 AM–3:30 PM) and extended year (200 instructional days) model, offering students expanded learning time and deeper engagement with content. This approach supports MVRCS’s mission to deliver a world-class, content-rich education that prepares students for success in college and beyond. MVRCS is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven History Teacher to deliver engaging, large-group instruction to students in Grades 1–6. The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge, a passion for history, and a deep commitment to student achievement. This role is an integral part of a collaborative grade-level team focused on high expectations, data-driven instruction, and the continuous improvement of teaching practice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned History instruction to students in Grades 1–6
  • Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
  • Use data to differentiate instruction and ensure mastery of content
  • Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams to align curriculum and share best practices
  • Establish and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment with clear academic and behavioral expectations
  • Foster a growth mindset and take ownership of student learning outcomes
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in a three-week summer orientation and ongoing professional development throughout the school year
