About The Position

At Mains’l, we believe in person-centered support that allows people to live with meaning and purpose. As an Intensive 1:1 Staff, you’ll provide specialized, individualized support to a person receiving services in our 7th Street Center for the Arts Day Program. You will work alongside the individual to implement positive support strategies, promote successful peer relationships, and support the achievement of personal goals and outcomes. The Intensive 1:1 Staff ensures services are delivered in alignment with person-centered practices, organizational values, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI background check
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation (if applicable)
  • Ability to pass a TB test and physical (if applicable)
  • Clear driving record (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of positive behaviors support strategies and trauma-informed care principles
  • Ability to recognize early signs of behavioral escalation and respond proactively
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to identify patterns, triggers, and effective interventions
  • Ability to use de-escalation techniques and support emotional regulation effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with individuals receiving services
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation, data tracking, and reporting requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow direction from supervisors

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 consistent support in identified areas while promoting person-canted practices
  • Implement structured environments and proactive strategies to support individual success
  • Provide clear visual and verbal reminders of social boundaries and program expectations
  • Model and role-play appropriate ways to gain attention and interaction with others
  • Provide immediate calm and private corrective feedback when needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in approach and service delivery
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with team members, families and stakeholders
  • Communicate changes in behavior, health, or support needs promptly and accurately
  • Document and communicate incidents, concerns, and notable events according to policy and timelines
  • Complete daily documentation related to data collection and progress towards goals
