The Zumba Instructor position at Elk Grove Park District is a part-time role that requires a dynamic and engaging individual to lead group exercise classes, specifically Zumba and other fitness formats. Under the general supervision of the Fitness/Wellness Coordinator, the instructor will be responsible for overseeing all participants in their respective classes, which includes planning and preparation, tracking attendance, and implementing class instruction. The instructor will maintain a communication link between Fitness Center members and management, ensuring that all announcements regarding class or program changes are effectively communicated. In this role, the instructor will provide personalized attention, encouragement, and motivation to participants, ensuring a high-quality experience in group exercise programs. They will evaluate and instruct participants on new techniques while overseeing classes for safety concerns. Additionally, the instructor will assist the Fitness Centre Management in establishing a marketing plan for the group exercise program and specific classes, as well as tracking participation in these programs. Safety is paramount, and the instructor must perform their duties in compliance with district policies and procedures, familiarizing themselves with the safe operation of any necessary equipment. The instructor will also be responsible for planning instruction related to the class title and description, communicating with parents regarding their child's participation and progress in youth or teen programs, and addressing any concerns with the Fitness/Wellness Coordinator regarding class numbers or participant issues. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, and enjoys working with people, with a strong ability to lead and motivate others in a fitness environment.
