Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have 2 years bird experience
• Must have a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a company driver's license
• Ability to complete provided CPR and Emergency First Aid training/certification
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to swim and work in/around water
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to push/pull 25 pounds
• Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and monitor food intake
• Clean, maintain and enhance exhibits and support areas
• Identify, observe, report and act on observations
• Pick up behavioral and physiological trends based on observations
• Maintain accurate, legible records
• Assist with veterinary treatments and procedures, capture and restraint of birds, care of rehab birds
• Set up for breeding season, monitor eggs and chicks in exhibits, monitor incubators, hand-rear chicks
• Provide excellent customer service to include assisting with tours and education programs
• Train others in shift duties with supervisor monitoring
• Other duties as required
