Zookeepers are responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the care and welfare of the animals in the Tropical Forest Area and other ZNE animal areas if needed. The Tropical Forest collection includes an assortment of tropical species including gorilla, ring-tailed lemur, De Brazza's monkey, cotton-top tamarin, pygmy hippo, Baird's tapir, giant anteater, and various species of birds, snakes, amphibians and insects. The duties of this area include cleaning animal spaces, preparing and feeding diets, providing and evaluating enrichment, observing animals and maintaining records. This position requires a work schedule of 7am-3:30pm or 10:30am – 7pm in the busy season and 7:30am-4:30pm in the quiet season. This position has 2 days off during the week and you must be able to regularly work weekends and holidays, as well as overtime when needed. This is a seasonal, part-time, variable hours (0-40 per week) based on need and availability of work.
