The Zookeeper position at John Ball Zoo involves providing exceptional care for a diverse range of animals while engaging with the public to promote wildlife conservation. Care and feeding of exotic and domestic animals.
Cleaning and maintenance of animal buildings, exhibits, and yards.
Observation and reporting on the physical and behavioral condition of the animals.
Specializing in the care of hoof stock, carnivores, and birds.
Educating the public about animals and conservation efforts.

Knowledgeable of modern principles of animal care and welfare.
2 years experience working with exotic animals is preferred.
Skilled in proper interpretive techniques to relay information to the public.
Strong communication skills and a supportive team player.
Ability to follow zoo and industry safety guidelines.

Experience with behavioral enrichment and positive reinforcement training techniques.
SCUBA certified or capable of being certified.
Capable of being venomous trained.
