About The Position

The Zoo Engineering Specialist is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing marine exhibits, water features, and water treatment systems at the Little Rock Zoo. This role ensures compliance with the National Pollutants Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit, contributing to the overall functionality and safety of the zoo's aquatic environments.

Requirements

  • Completion of two years of college coursework in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or a related area.
  • Two years of experience in civil engineering, wastewater engineering, or construction inspection.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Arkansas Class D Driver's License before employment.
  • Certification as a Wastewater Operator, Class 1 within six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with marine exhibit systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water treatment.
