Under the supervision of the Manager of Food Services, the Zoo Concessions Worker is responsible for: Sell and prepare concession items accurately, safely, and efficiently. Keep concession areas clean, sanitary, and "visitor friendly". Stock and rotate concession items as needed; may include gift shop merchandise at the satellite concession area. Attend to all customer needs/problems in a prompt & courteous manner. Check messages and work schedules at the start of the shift. Open registers and preparation of assigned area before concessions open to the public. Closeout registers and other devices at the end of the business day, and transfer money and appropriate paperwork to the supervisor. Clean assigned area at the end of the business day to established standards. Assist in the set-up for rental events as needed. Work rental events as needed and scheduled. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District’s safety program. Wear the proper designated uniform. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: The work requires some physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment, and materials. Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds are required on a periodic basis. The programmed activities involve everyday risks, which require normal safety precautions typical of the recreation industry.
